Boston College High School (first) is built.
1863
Originally Boston College and Preparatory School, it is located at 761 Harrison Avenue. The building is moved back 60 feet and extended in 1874, and extended again in 1890. After sharing the building with Boston College, the high school occupies the whole of it in 1913 and becomes an independent institution in 1927. Graduates include Edward King, Frederick Langone, and Newman Flanagan. The school begins its move to Columbia Point in 1950. and the original building is subsequently converted to condominiums in 2010.*
